Mustang Coupe is the "R Series" Prototype
The TRIBUTE EDITION SHELBY package is designed strictly for the 1994 to 2001 and beyond Mustangs. In mid 2000, MUSTANG F/X Inc. began work on a NEW "Tribute Edition Shelby" project, the "R Series". The "R Series" was going to be a total new concept for the G.T. 500 package. The "R Series" package was going to be installed only on NEW GT Mustangs at a Ford Dealership in Tallahassee Florida. All were going to be Coupes, all were going to be turned into 2 seaters. Below is photos of the ONLY "R Series" built..... the "PROTOTYPE". It has a lot of special features and most of those are now availible as options for the "Tribute Edition Shelby" kits. Since the package is designed for the G.T. 500, this will be the ONLY 2000 model "Tribute Edition Shelby G.T. 350R" produced.
Carroll Shelby personally autographed the Dash Pad of this special Mustang and he also signed the special Certification Certificate too.
This is the 8th. 2000 model Tribute Edition Shelby produced even thought it is the prototype for the "R Series" package. The special Hood treatment was Blacked out with high gloss Black paint and a 9 inch tall open letter Gold "SHELBY" decal was installed.
This is a very RARE Original Emblem from the early sixties and this will be the ONLY Tribute Edition Shelby to wear one. The special Grill Emblem was a last minute idea before I took this Mustang to the 25th. MCA Mustang Show in Commerce GA. It is one of the Fender/Deck Lid Emblems and looks rather cool as a Grill Emblem too.
The lower side Stripe Decal and the Quarter Panel Decal on this Tribute Edition Shelby are of Black Reflective Vinyl as is the Deck Lid Decal.
This "CS" Deck Lid Emblem is the same as on the Front Fenders and Grill. The "SHELBY" Emblem is used in place of the Factory oval Ford Emblem.
The Spoiler was relocated rearward almost 3 inches and the "Carroll Shelby" Signature Decal on the Back Glass is now an option.
The Custom Ram Air Pipe on this Tribute Edition was built just days before the 25th. MCA Show and it works great too.
Being a "G.T. 350R" there is no Back Seat. Special Panels were made and carpeted, then fitted. The lower Panel has access to a storage area. The Custom Head Rest Covers looked so good that they are now an option.
This is the special Under Hood Tag unique to the Tribute Edition Shelby vehicles. Carroll Shelby Autographed the Air Bag while I showed the Mustang at the SAAC-26 Show at the Lowes Motor Speedway on the july 4th. weekend.
This is the special Numbered/Serialized Dash Plaque. The second Dash Plaque that is on the Left lets every one know that this Tribute Edition Shelby is a "PROTOTYPE". The Red "R Series" Fender Decals lets every one know that this Mustang is specially equipped.
This is the special "Certificate" that the owners receive after installing the Tribute Edition Shelby package correctly. It comes with a place for Carroll Shelby to sign it as he signed this one.
This is the first Gold Tribute.

This is the first Tribute with this Hood treatment.
